When I first arrived in the United States, I originally did not intend to “test the tickets” immediately because I was so much troubled by the troubles at that time, but soon I found that it was almost impossible to get a driver’s license in the United States without a license. For example, a sign saying “If you do not look 30 years old, please have your ID ready” is displayed in all outlets selling alcohol. In California, there are two types of “identity documents”: available driver’s licenses and “non-motorist” documents everywhere. The latter is for “white crows” who for some reason can not drive. It is interesting to note that both of these documents are issued by the California Motorized Vehicle Administration, which also handles voter registration.
