“,”Objective:To explore the application effects of sodium valproate combined with levetiracetam on children with intractable epilepsy. Methods:A total of 108 children with intractable epilepsy in Luoyang First People’s Hospital from January 2018 to January 2020 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into group A (n n=35), group B (n n=34) and group C (n n=39) by simplified random grouping of random number table. All children were treated with oxcarbazepine-based basic drugs, and on the basis of basic therapy, group A was treated with sodium valproate alone, group B was treated with levetiracetam alone, and group C was treated with sodium valproate and levetiracetam. The reduction rate of epileptic seizure frequency and negative conversion rate of abnormal electroencephalogram rhythms after 6 months of treatment and incidence rates of adverse drug reactions within 6 months were compared among the groups. Changes in electroencephalogram parameters were compared among the groups before treatment and after 6 months of treatment.n Results:After 6 months of treatment, the reduction rate of epileptic seizure frequency and negative conversion rate of abnormal electroencephalogram rhythms in group C were higher than those in group B or group A (n P<0.05). The absolute powers of the α1, α2 and θ frequency bands in the affected brain side in the three groups were decreased compared with those before treatment (n P<0.05), and the absolute powers of α1, α2 and θ frequency bands in group C were significantly lower than those in group A and group B (n P0.05).n Conclusions:Sodium valproate combined with levetiracetam has prominent effects in the treatment of children with intractable epilepsy. It can effectively improve electroencephalogram, and the combination of medication has good safety.
