Robert Falcon Scott is a British Royal Navy officer. Originally, he was neither an explorer nor a navigator, but a military expert studying torpedoes. In August 1901, he was instructed to take the expedition by “Discovery” to go deep into the Ross Sea in the Antarctic Circle and wintering in a valley in the McMurdo Strait on the island of Rose to adapt to the Antarctic The harsh environment laid the foundation for his later formal march to the South Pole. Although Scott’s climb to the South Pole was about two months earlier than Norwegian explorer Amundsen, he arrived at the South Pole just days after Amundsen took the 34th day to climb the South Pole. His experience and The consequences are quite different from Amundsen. Although he arrived at the South Pole at a later date than Amundsen, it is recognized as the greatest Antarctic explorer in the world.
