The translation of literary classics is an important way to promote the exchange of literature and culture. The translation of Buddhist scriptures is the peak of the history of Sino-Indian literary and cultural exchanges. In the last hundred years, most of the ancient and modern Chinese literary classics were in a state of lack of translation in India, except for the Tao Te Ching, the Tang Poetry and Lu Xun. The difference between the traditional Chinese and Indian literary traditions and the pursuit of beauty, the fact that contemporary India is more concerned about China’s political and economic events are the reasons for this situation. However, the most fundamental reason is that India’s national culture is overly proud. This cultural psychology has led to the selective blindness of Indian culture in the face of the classic Chinese literature. Indian culture has a long history and profound influence on South Asia and Southeast Asia. However, over-pride hinders its normal two-way literary exchange with other East countries.
