Linguistic history (linguistic historiography, or historiography of linguistics) as a specialized branch of linguistics was formed in the seventies of this century, after more than 20 years of expansion, is now a considerable scale in the west. This article discusses some of the concepts commonly used by academics working in this area. Some of these concepts are new to us and the introduction of them is in the philosophy of historical philosophy. Some are commonplace. However, just because we are accustomed to using it, most people do not pay much attention to defining them and identify the ambiguities they may have. Defining and analyzing these concepts should be one of the basic theoretical work on the history of specific linguistics.
