Objective To study the characteristics of EEG diagnosis and treatment in epileptic seizure state during sleep (ESES). Methods Forty-two children with sleep-induced epileptic seizures were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 21 cases in each group. Control group to take conventional drug treatment, the observation group in the control group based on the use of methylprednisolone impact treatment. The clinical efficacy of the two groups were compared. Results In epileptic seizure state during sleep, the spike and slow wave of sleep in children were sustainedly released for more than 50% of the time, and the spike and slow wave frequencies were in the range of 2.0-3.5 Hz. The total effective rate of observation group was better than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusions ESES is commonly accompanied by prolonged spike-and-slow wave delivery (≥50%) during long periods of sleep. Methylprednisolone treatment of ESES ideal effect, can be clinically promoted.
