“绕车三匝”,是唐代婚姻习俗中,新婿到女家迎亲(即“亲迎之礼”)时所履行的一项重要仪式。这项仪式发生在新妇登上迎亲车之后,新婿按惯例需骑马“绕车三匝”。关于这一仪式的文化内涵,史籍中未作具体说明,前人著述中多略而不谈。笔者不揣固陋,试加申述。唐代“亲迎之
“Three rounds of winding a car” is an important ceremony fulfilled by the new-son-in-law at the marriage ceremony of the female family (ie, “the ceremony of pro-welcome”) in the marriage customs of the Tang Dynasty.
