I.The Academic Life of Jiang MengyinJiang Mengyin(蒋孟引)(1907-1988),originally namedJiang Deheng(蒋德恒),also known as Baihuan(百幻),was a renowned Chinese historian.He was bo in 1907 atChangping Village,Gaoqiao Town,Xinning County,HunanProvince.Studying in an old-style private school in his youth,Jiang showed his talents and special interests in history,ashe frequently discussed historical issues with his tutor andformulated his own opinions.He then took historical researchas his life-long pursuit.In 1928,Jiang was enrolled in theDepartment of History at National Central University.
