香港是以香港岛为核心、沿海环形分布、高楼大厦高度密集等为显著特征的一个国际大都市,2014年人口达到723万,地域面积为1104平方公里(由香港岛、九龙半岛、新界组成),2100公里的道路,65万多辆车,密度大约是每公里300辆车,每一千人平均0.3公里道路,人车量大概是每10.5人一辆车,但当人们进入中心城区(包括香港岛中环、铜锣湾、上环、尖沙咀等)时发现,尽管道路普遍比较狭窄,但很少看见大面积堵车现象,并且有些道路上的车速非常之快,城市运行效率很高。
Hong Kong is an international metropolis featuring Hong Kong Island as its core, a coastal distribution ring and high-rise buildings. Its population in 2014 was 7.23 million with a geographical area of 1104 square kilometers (composed of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula and New Territories) , 2100 kilometers of roads and more than 650,000 vehicles. The density is about 300 vehicles per kilometer. The average number of vehicles per kilometer is 0.3 kilometers. The number of people is about 10.5 cars per car. However, when people enter the downtown area (including Hong Kong Island Central, Causeway Bay, Sheung Wan, Tsim Sha Tsui, etc.) found that although the roads were generally narrow, seldom seen a large area of traffic jams, and some roads were very fast and the city was very efficient.
