Combine skepticism with decision-making in the real world. It is also the only group of people who use philosophy in useful places. History should be: try to record the facts, try not to explain or put forward the theory, describe the facts, do not talk about why, and refuse to do generalization inference. However, this non-theoretical form of knowledge was belittled by the Shihlin school in the Middle Ages, and Shihlin school preferred clearer learning. History merely records the truth, lower than philosophy or science. Until then, even philosophy and the wisdom of decision-making were closer than they are today, and the existence of the Black Swan implied a rare and unpredictable rare event that unexpectedly changed everything.
