党的十六大报告明确指出:“积极推进西部大开发,促进区域经济协调发展”。在西部大开发中,把已记录区域状况为基本内容的地方文献作为研究对象,深入研究和揭示如何利用地方文献信息资源为西部大开发服务,充分发挥地方文献在西部大开发中的作用是文献信息领域面临的一个重要课题。为此,内蒙古自治区图书馆学会和内蒙古自治区高校图书情报工作委员会定于2003年8月在草原青城呼和浩特市举办“西部大开发与地方文献的开发利用”学术研讨会。征文通知如下:
