Objective To observe the neuroprotective effects of mild hypothermia (33 ℃) in different periods on transient global cerebral ischemia and its effect on the expression of Bcl 2 / Bax. Methods Forty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into normal temperature group, mild hypothermia group, delayed hypothermia group and control group. TUNEL method was used to detect the survival neurons in transient ischemic rat model and Nissl staining. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of Bcl 2 and Bax protein. Results Immediate hypothermia can up-regulate the ratio of Bcl 2 / Bax in hippocampal CA1 and CA3 areas and reduce apoptosis. Delayed hypothermia only has effect on CA3 area. Conclusion Mild hypothermia has a protective effect on ischemic neurons, which is related to the onset of hypothermia.
