On October 11th construction on a 600 000 t/a aniline project was started in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, northeastern China. The RMB9.5 billion project is jointly funded by Jilin Provincial Coal Industry Group Co Ltd and China’s leading aniline company, Jilin Connell Chemical Industry Company Limited. Construction will be executed in two phases. Phase one is planned to come on line in June 2012 and phase two will be completed in September 2014. The Tongliao plant will use the routine of coal - nitric acidnitrobenzene to make aniline. Therefore several attaching units such as 240 000 t/a ammonia (CASALE technology), 400 000 t/a concentrated nitric acid (magnesium nitrate method), 400 000
