日本近年来,由于高强度皮带的出现,个别地下矿山开始采用了斜井皮带运输机提升矿石,个别石灰石矿的外部长距离运输也开始采用皮带运输机。为便于集中控制和提高运输效率,实现装卸自动控制,采用斜井皮带运输的矿山均采用了井下一次破碎。日本生产的高强度皮带有:尼龙芯皮带,钢丝芯皮带和方钢芯钢绳皮带三种。特殊的还有:Butyl(I.I.R)皮带,可耐160~170℃的高温及可弯曲的钢板橡胶
