青年文化的特点与青年本身的特点密切相关。青年人充满活力、思维活跃,不愿墨守成规,总是以置疑的眼光看待传统和现代社会,创造出与成人社会文化相疏离、对传统价值规范具有一定否定性的文化,来释放压力、张扬个性、摆脱束缚、追求独立、寻找自尊、追求自己心中理想的生活状态。青年人心理和生理的都不成熟,容易感情用事,具有很强的非理性冲动。青年人对时尚有着本能的敏感、先天的爱好与急切的追求,具有很强的从众模仿心理和个性表现欲望,是时尚文化和流行文化名副其实的缔造者。正是青年的这些特点使青年文化具有叛逆性、情绪性、时尚性和流行性。为此,在中国改革开放的关键时期,坚持先进文化的前进方向,发展健康有益、充满活力的青年文化显得十分重要,也十分紧迫。
