OBJECTIVE: To compare the life expectancy at birth and infants’ growth and development before and after the 7.0-magnitude Richter scale earthquake in Lijiang County (now Yulong County) on February 3, 1996, and to analyze the impact of the earthquake disaster on it. It provides references for improving population quality and life expectancy in earthquake disaster areas. Methods: According to the survey results of the 4th national census in 1990 before the earthquake, the functional morphology of normal children aged 0 ~ 7 in 6 ethnic groups in 10 regions in Yunnan Province in 1988 (part of Lijiang County) and the 5th national census in 2000 after the earthquake In 2002, 16 ethnic regions in Yunnan Province, 12 ethnic 3 to 6-year-old children morphological and functional investigation (Lijiang section) as a source, according to the probability of population cross-section death at birth, using PEMS3.0forwindows package to calculate the baby’s survival Age, the preparation of a simple life table; according to the nine cities in the country to adjust the method of growth and development indicators survey. Results: Life expectancy Men in the 10 years before and after the Earthquake in 2000 decreased by 0.8 years, lower than the provincial average; women increased by 2 to 3 years old, only increased by 0.67 years than the provincial average, and the increase rate of women decreased significantly; The average age of 6-year-old boys before and after the earthquake was negative growth of -0.6cm, girls are not affected; after the earthquake, the height and weight of boys did not increase with age, did not follow the basic rules of growth and development. Conclusion: The impact of earthquake disaster on life expectancy is confirmed. The life expectancy of men after the disaster is reduced by 0.8 years. The earthquake disaster had a big impact on the boy’s height. The height of the boy in the 6-year-old group was lower than that before the 1988 earthquake in 2002 (after the earthquake 6 years) and lower than that of the girls in the same age group.
