In breast cancer examinations, MRI can detect more potential lesions, and these lesions may be missed by conventional imaging. However, no consensus has been reached on whether MRI can be used as a routine test for patients with early-stage breast cancer. In recent years, some retrospective studies have shown that although MRI can detect more lesions, it does not improve the patient’s survival rate. Moreover, the discovery of multicentric lesions led to more patients choosing modified radical mastectomy rather than breast-conserving surgery. An article published in the issue of No. 5 of 2009 by CA Cancer J Clin reviews the clinical significance of MRI for early breast cancer. In this article, we put forward some opinions on some of them and think that MRI may benefit patients in some specific breast cancer patients.
