1品种选用选用鲜食玉米品种,除考察品种的丰产性、稳产性、生态适应性、抗病虫性之外,重点是根据市场来选择适宜品种。目前国家和省、市品种审定均注重鲜食玉米的品质,因此,在生产中应选用国家和省级农作物品种审定委员会审定通过的优质、高产、抗病的鲜食玉米品种。此外,糯玉米要求注意品种籽粒的颜色,以满足不同消费者的需求,如在美国一般选用黄色籽粒品种,在日本及欧洲国家一般选用白色籽粒品种,而在国内近年以彩色籽粒品种颇受青睐。
