二十世纪下半叶,美国多元文化音乐教育得到蓬勃发展。其中有三次会议起到了关键性的作用。它们分别是耶鲁音乐教育研讨会、唐哥伍德会议、多元文化研讨会。耶鲁研讨会和唐哥伍德会议为建立审美的音乐教育哲学打下了基础,对六十年代后的多元文化音乐教育课程和教育内容的改革起到决定性的作用;九十年代的多元文化研讨会则打开了多元文化音乐教育新的局面,使音乐教育进入新的阶段,并反映了一种新的音乐教育哲学的倡导,即:实践音乐教育哲学。
In the second half of the twentieth century, multicultural music education in the United States was booming. Three of the meetings played a key role. They are the Yale Music Education Symposium, the Tango Wood Conference, the Multicultural Seminar. The Yale Symposium and the Tango Wood Conference laid the foundation for the establishment of an aesthetic philosophy of music education, which played a decisive role in the reform of multicultural music education curricula and educational content after the 1960s. In the nineties multicultural seminar, Opened up a new situation in multicultural music education, brought music education into a new stage and reflected a new advocacy of music education philosophy, namely, practicing the philosophy of music education.
