The Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress released the Cyber Security Law of the People’s Republic of China (Second Draft for Draft) in July 2016, which will be China’s first special law on cybersecurity. Since the first draft was announced in July 2015, the legislation has given rise to extensive discussions and controversies over some issues.
