军用机器人是指执行军事任务的机器人。随着高新技术的飞速发展,各种类型的军用机器人大量涌现。军用机器人分为自主式和遥控式两大类。80年代前,各国侧重研制自主式军用机器人,但因受当时图形处理、数据融合等关键技术的限制,进展缓慢。因此,发展重点逐渐转向遥控式军用机器人,即由士兵远距离操纵的军用机器人。90年代后,自主式车辆技术及其他关键技术有突破性进展,自主式军用机器人重获新生。目前,各国军事部门都在研制这两大类各种用途的军用机器人。在21世纪战场上,机器人将会越来越多代替人类在诸如核、生、化条件,外层空间,海底或不适合人类的危险环境中执行任务。有人预言,人类将逐渐退出战场面对面的厮杀。这样的情况真会发生吗?
