Influence of composition on friction-wear behavior of composite materi-als reinforced by brass fiber

In the study, for the composite materials reinforced by brass fibers, the influence of dominant ingredients, such as organic adhesion agent, cast iron debris, brass fiber, and graphite powder, on the friction-wear characteristics was investi-gated. The friction-wear experiment was carried out on the block-on-ring tribometer MM200. The worn surfaces of the fric-tion pair consisting of the composite materials and grey cast iron HT200 under dry sliding friction were examined using scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive analysis (EDX) and differential thermal analysis-thermogravimetric analysis (DTA-TAG).
