介绍了本地城域传输网优化的背景、网络的结构和存在的问题,并以某城市城域传输网的优化为案例,介绍了网络优化的思路——在保留SDH技术特点和性能的基础上对网络进行改造,使之形成能支持二层、三层数据智能,具有业务层、传送层一体化的SDH节点和结构清晰、容量充足、技术先进的本地城域传输网,从而降低投资和运行维护的成本,获取尽可能多的利益回报。
