In the Machinery Directive MD 2006 / EC / 42 Appendix X, high demands are placed on the quality management systems of companies producing machine safety devices that go far beyond the well-known ISO9000 quality system requirements. Any business that meets these requirements can manufacture and sell products in Appendix IV that meet the requirements of the Machinery Directive. This involves some of Schmersal’s products, namely the “logic unit for safety function” and the “body detection and protection system” stipulated in the standard.
