As the economy continues to grow strongly, the ASEAN countries have become another vibrant economic group after the “four small” ones in Asia. “ASEAN hot” has brought investment “craze.” Although foreign direct investment (excluding Singapore) does not dominate the total domestic capital accumulation of ASEAN countries, people are convinced that FDI will promote the industrialization of ASEAN countries. The focus of the debate is only on how much interest ASEAN countries can gain from foreign direct investment. Should foreign sources be decentralized in order to promote the coordinated development of the work? This article attempts to make a brief discussion on the relationship between FDI and industrialization in ASEAN countries.
