The occurrence and development of gastric cancer is a multi-stage process involving multiple genes and multiple molecules. At present, the literature reports on the detection of oncogene products, most of which focus on the changes of a single oncogene. The results are less comparable and the conclusions are often inconsistent. We used immunohistochemistry to simultaneously detect p53, p21ras, CerbB2 and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) from serial sections of gastric cancer.
