安徽宿县专区的棉区大多是盐碱土,土壤比较瘠薄,肥力低,同时由于棉花面积比较集中,加以肥源不多,在播种季节往往出现缺肥和粮棉争肥的矛盾。致使长期以来棉花产量不易很快提高。为了解决棉田肥料不足,粮、棉争肥的矛盾,我们从1963年秋天开始至1964年,在碭山、萧县等棉区进行了棉田套种苕子的示范工作,取得了一定的成效。 一 棉田套种苕子的增产效果 棉田套种苕子的实验是在碭山、萧县的5个社队和碭山县农科所进行的。它代表了棉区沙土、青沙土和盐碱土的土壤类型以及高、中、低等三个不同的土壤肥力情况。示范点于1963年9月上中旬
