As interpreting is rapid and instant translation,time is a main constraint for interpreters.In order to do a good job in the limited time, interpreters should have good language proficiency and rich background knowledge.Besides,as an important psychological process in understanding, inference plays a significant role in interpreting,which is also the theme of this thesis.Generally speaking,inference is conducive to disambiguating, achieving coherence and deducing communicative intentions.The interpreter can hardly do a good job without inference.
