在陆相沉积的块断盆地内,当探井喷出工业性的油(气)流之后,充分利用已取得的油(气)水层流体压力资料,来研究油(气)藏的规模及其内部结构就非常重要。因为任何油(气)藏的边界位置,含油(气)的富集程度,油层的连通性质及天然能量的大小都可以从所测量的孔隙流体压力上反映出来。因此,充分利用这些流体压力资料,对一些地质问题尽快做出判断,对指导该地区进一步的勘探和开发有非常现实的意义。实践证明,这样做的结果不仅经济,而且迅速可靠,实施后成效也是很好的。
