The open-air magnetite of Björnten, located in northern Norway, has a mining area of about 8 × 2 (L × W) sq km. Ore is multi-fractured gneiss and granite. Gneiss, iron grade is 15 ~ 30%, granite iron grade is 32%. Rock hard, abrasive and difficult to drill, which sets specific requirements for drill bits, drill pipes, loaders, cars and tires. The compressive strength of the rock is 1800 kg / cm ~ 2, while the ore is 2200 ~ 2500 kg / cm ~ 2.
