In 1977, Rizzetto et al. Found a new antigen-antibody system - delta antigen and delta antibody (anti-delta). Under the electron microscope, the antiserum used for staining the core antigen of hepatitis not only colored the core part, but also colored part without the core antigen, suggesting that this anti-core serum does not have the core specificity and thus is a new Antigen Antibody System.
