党的十七届四中全会审议通过的《中共中央关于加强和改进新形势下党的建设若干重大问题的决定》中指出:“始终以思想理论建设为根本建设,坚持党的思想路线,解放思想、实事求是、与时俱进,坚持真理,修正错误,不断推进马克思主义中国化、时代化、大众化。”这是中国共产党在坚持思想理论建设中国化和大众化的同时,第一次提出了马克思主义的时代化问题。准确把握马克思主义时代化的内涵和精神实质,并且不断推进马克思主义时代化,具有非常重要的当代意义。
