Chemical explosion will bring about major destruction of production facilities. Even more lethal will cause poisoning and environmental pollution. In 2006, an explosion occurred in the hazardous waste transfer plant in the town of Apex in the United States. The chlorine cloud released during the explosion caused an emergency evacuation of local residents. At 21:38 on October 5, 2006, a fire broke out at the Environmental Quality Company Hazardous Waste Disposal Factory (“EQ Factory”) at Apex, a suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina. About 30 people, including 12 police officers and 1 fireman, were caused as a result of the accident and were sent to the hospital emergency room for symptoms such as dyspnea and nausea caused by chemical gases and smoke.
