The aluminum plate used for making rigid containers is related to the stress-strain and strain-hardening characteristics and varies slightly with the type of alloy and the metallurgical structure. Combining these properties with deep drawability, it has been found that it seems that high strain hardening rates and a high resistance to necking can all contribute to the cup forming operation of strain-hardened aluminum sheets for canning. The crystalline texture has a great influence on the deep drawing properties of aluminum alloys. This effect was evaluated through a series of tests, including tests on size and structure changes during deep drawing.
