The 9th International Conference on Earthquake Engineering (9WCEE) will be held on August 2-9, 1988 in Tokyo, Japan. The main topics of the meeting are: (1) earthquake damage; (2) earthquake risk; (3 ) Ground movement and local effects, (4) Soil dynamic characteristics and stability, (5) Soil-structure interactions and foundations; (6) Tests and experimental methods for structural members; (7) Structural responses; (8) Seismic design methodology and seismic design code for building structures; (9) High-rise buildings and their components and equipment; (10) Civil engineering structures and industrial equipment; (11) Lifeline systems; (12) Seismic energy estimation, structural construction Reinforcement and maintenance of materials; (13) Mitigation of urban earthquake hazards, socio-economic situation, and human behavior.
