The frequencies of reciprocal translocation hybrids (15-20%) exhibited by Ailes (Secale cereale L.) are quite stable. This chromosomal structure is stable and consistent across the individual and polymorphism is the result of many different reciprocal translocations involving at least 5 chromosomes in seven chromosomes. Experimental data have demonstrated the hypothesis of mutant selection equilibrium theory;
