2016年10月,太仓出入境检验检疫局在进口加拿大原木上发现两种象虫,经江苏局动植物与食品检测中心植物检疫实验室鉴定为森林象(Steremnius carinatus(Boheman))和一种树皮象,其中森林象经加拿大象虫专家Anderson H Roberts复核确认。该虫为北美特有种,国内尚无报道。森林象属湿象亚科(Molytinae)湿象族(molytini)林象属(Steremnius Schoenherr 1835)。森林象的鉴定特征:前背板,左中右具3条红褐色纵纹;前胸前缘缢缩成衣领状,在两侧成眼叶;表面粗糙具大颗瘤,其中前半部的较大而平展,后半部分较圆秃而密,前半部中央具一条明显的纵脊。鞘翅
In October 2016, Taicang Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau found two kinds of elephants on imported Canadian logs.
