经典梁祝以其虚饰的性格似乎天生地属于文艺而与注重史实的历史无缘。其实,梁祝故事的流布而非故事本身支撑着民众思想的表达,故事的破绽并不影响流布事实的存在。作为历史素材的梁祝故事不仅仅是传说,还包括文献和实迹。故事中的实迹(依附点)让我们发现了民众思想突出的地方特性,固定故事口传者及其地方生活空间成了揭示民众思想的关键途径;通过传说与地方文献的比勘,民众思想的历史脉络隐约可见;普通民众将传说、文献和实迹杂烩为一体,在梁祝故事的流布中,消解着日常生活的负面状态,表达着他们的生活追求,凸显着特定群体活着的意义,从而与精英阶层表达思想的方式区别开来。
