明末清初一代奇才金圣叹,是著名的文学批评家,江苏吴县人.他本姓张名采号若采,少时即倜傥不群,出言无忌,为文怪诞,由此于岁试时被黜.次年,他灵机一动顶上“金人瑞”的名字再去应考童子试,居然得了头名.仍复儒冠.滑稽的社会可笑的事情不禁让人喟然长叹,于是他毅然改名换姓金圣叹.金圣叹工诗善文,尤喜欢批书.他曾对《离骚)、《庄子》、《史记》、《杜甫诗》、《西厢记》、《水浒传》等历史名著一一作评,并将其合称为世间“六才子书”,而对“四书”、“五经”漠然置之.这在当时轰动一时.顺治十八年(公元1661年),金圣叹参与了名震全国的苏州文庙抗粮哭庙案,以反对吴县知县任维初贪贿浮征、滥用非刑,为民请愿.结果他被捕遭杀,时年仅53岁.
