The Jinsha River is the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Its main source, Tuotuo River, originates from the Tanggula Range on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It flows through the four provinces (regions) of Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces and reaches the Yangtze River after receiving the Minjiang River in Yibin, Sichuan. The Jinsha River is abundant and stable in water volume with large and concentrated drops. The total length of the river is 3364km with a natural drop of 5100m.
