Both China and Japan belong to the cultural circle of Chinese characters, and a large number of homographs of Chinese characters exist between Chinese and Japanese languages. A large number of homographs of Chinese characters makes it easy to borrow words from each other. However, during the long-term use, some Words in the word meaning, style, product words, collocation, emotional color, sense of language and other aspects of one or the other changes have taken place. This paper analyzes only the meaning of “meaning ” in Chinese and Japanese homophones, and finds that the meaning of “meaning ” in Chinese is as many as 13, and new verbs are added based on the part of speech of the original noun Although it absorbs the Japanese expression of “meaning”, it is limited to legal terms and has not been popularized in everyday Chinese. Although the term “meaning” in Japanese only has the noun part-of-speech, it has strong ability of word-formation and differs from Chinese in that it is mostly used as a legal term.
