自古以来,中国南部地区及泰国、越南、缅甸、印度等一些国家的居民都有嚼食槟榔的风俗习惯,并由“槟榔”衍生出独特的“槟榔文化”。本文试图依托竹枝词来考察槟榔在文化上的表现形态。槟榔作为一种果品却负载着丰富的文化内涵,如以槟榔待客、以嚼食槟榔后的黑齿为美、以槟榔为婚嫁聘礼、以槟榔化解纠纷仇恨等。槟榔在人们的社会生活中扮演着重要角色,已成为一种极具文化内涵的象征符号。
Since ancient times, residents of southern China and some countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar and India all have the habit of chewing betel nuts and derive their unique “betel nut culture” from “betel nut”. This article attempts to rely on the Zhuzhici to examine betel nut in the cultural manifestations. Betel nut as a fruit is loaded with rich cultural connotations, such as betel nut hospitality to chewing betel nut after the black tooth beauty, betel nut wedding dowry, betel nut to resolve disputes such as hatred. Betel nut plays an important role in people’s social life and has become a symbol of cultural connotation.
