本文以美国作家玛格丽特·米切尔的小说《乱世佳人》为例,探讨如何翻译文学作品中的比喻性语言。以奈达的功能对等翻译理论为指导,通过陈良廷的《乱世佳人》汉译本中比喻性语言的汉译实例,详细评析了不同类别的比喻语句应该运用的不同的翻译方法:直译、意译、注释法等,再现原文效果,达到不同语言不同文化交流的目的。
Taking the novel “Gone with the Wind” by American writer Margaret Mitchell as an example, this article explores how to translate figurative languages in literary works. With Nida’s theory of functional equivalence translation as a guide, through the case of Chen Liang-ting’s translation of figurative language in the Chinese translation of “Gone with the Wind”, we analyze in detail the different translation methods that different categories of metaphor should use: literal translation, Annotation method, etc., to reproduce the original text effect, to achieve the purpose of different cultures in different languages.
