汉语普通话里表示“土和水混合物”义的“泥”字读n声母,而在汉语方言里“泥”的读音有n声母、η声母、m声母和l声母等几种不同的类型,其中读为唇音声母m的情况较为特殊。笔者在调查江苏北部地区方言时发现,连云港市的东海县和赣榆区、宿迁市的泗洪县等部分地区“泥”字读为 _cmi。考察汉语方言情况可以发现,“泥”在吴语、徽语、湘语、赣语、客家话、闽语、粤语等方言 Chinese mandarin, “soil and water mixture ” meaning “mud ” word to read n initials, and in the Chinese dialect “mud ” pronunciation n initials, η initials, m initials and l initials, etc. There are different kinds of types, of which the case of reading lip-initials m is rather special.
