Although the characters in the story have different identities and backgrounds, they all experience the pain of taking root. This article reviews the work from both the writing theme and writing skills. On the theme, the works focus on the living conditions of the immigrants to reveal the sense of loneliness, dislocation and sense of drop of the Chinese immigrants’ spiritual world. At the formal level, with unresolved ends, the titles with pun intended mean metaphorical significance, highlighting the first generation New immigrants survival problems, deepen the theme.
