本文是一个古籍整理的结果,以先秦典籍中有关乐官的史料作为著录和解释对象。先秦乐官是国家机器中职官之一,在音乐教育、仪式歌乐、器乐演奏、音理论等重大活动中承担着重要的职能。与乐正、乐师、乐工等一起构成了雅乐艺术的主体创作者、表演者和解释者。因乐官位近天子,有的还以太师的身份参予到政治决策中,也有的乐官在宫庭中还承担音乐职事以外的讽谏和占卜等功能。因而,乐官群体是一个对中国早期文化影响巨大的力量。其影响面主要作用于音乐文化,但又远远不止于音乐文化。
