Objective To study the relationship between the expression of PDGF and PDGFR and the number of MV in gastric cancer. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of PDGF and PDGFR in 57 cases of gastric cancer and MVC. Results The expressions of PDGF and PDGFR were closely related to the infiltration and metastasis of gastric cancer. The positive rates of PDGF and PDGFR in infiltrating depth≥2 / 3 myometrial cases were 61.8% and 58.8%, respectively, which were significantly higher than that in infiltrating depth <2/3 myometrial cases. The positive rates of PDGF and PDGFR in patients with regional lymph node metastasis were 64 9% and 59 5% respectively, which were significantly higher than those without lymph node metastasis (P <0.05 or P <0.01). The positive expression of MV was significantly higher than the negative expression. Conclusions PDGF and PDGFR can be used as important biomarkers to evaluate the prognosis of gastric cancer. The results of this study are expected to provide experimental evidence and new clues for the inhibition of angiogenesis in gastric cancer
