国际生产工程研究会的全名为College Institute Research Production,简称CIRP。该会创办于1948年,是由瑞士的E. Bickel,美国的D. F. Galloway,法国的P. Nicolau和比利时O. Peters等四位教授发起的。1951年9月举行第一次年会。正式定名为国际生产工程研究会,正式会员约160人。该会曾发表过许多权威性的生产工程预测资料,拟定有关国际标准,统一技术名词术语,发表各种科技文献及论文等。该会并出版了会刊(CIRP ANN—ALS),到1981年共出版了30卷。
The full name of the International Production Engineering Research Association is College Institute Research Production, referred to as CIRP. The association was founded in 1948 and was initiated by four professors including E. Bickel of Switzerland, D. F. Galloway of the United States, P. Nicolau of France and O. Peters of Belgium. The first annual meeting was held in September 1951. Officially known as the International Production Engineering Research Association, there are about 160 regular members. The association has published many authoritative forecasting data for production engineering, drafted relevant international standards, unified technical terminology, and published various scientific literature and dissertations. The association also published a journal (CIRP ANN-ALS). By 1981, it had published 30 volumes.
