The laser, along with a ray-tracing system and an xy plotter that supports large sheets, can quickly change the original design. Lasers over conventional mechanical tools have several advantages: small heating spots do not distort the material; contactless cutting eliminates the need for clips and does not cause tool wear; the resulting trim is smooth and requires no further trimming for Mosaic technology is accurate enough.
