定襄县位于山西省中北部,忻定盆地之东,现辖于忻州市。据雍正《山西通志》载:东汉末于阳曲古城置定襄县,隋省县人秀容,隶楼烦郡。唐武德四年(621),析秀容置定襄县,金元明均隶忻州府。清雍正二年(1724),改忻州为直隶州,定襄仍属之。 Dingxiang County is located in the north-central Shanxi Province, Xin Ding basin east, now under the jurisdiction of Xinzhou City.
